Welcome to the Austin Stone Abuse site, a place for survivors of abuse at the hands of The Austin Stone Community Church and The Austin Stone Counseling Center to communicate their stories, have catharsis, and connect with others.

If you’re interested in sharing your story, go here.

If you’re interested in reading stories that have been shared, go here.

If you’re a survivor looking for resources, go here.

If you want to know more about the group of volunteers behind this site, read below.

Disclaimers

Hey there,

You’re on a community-built site. It is not affiliated with nor speaking for any group or individual outside itself.

You’re able to interact in various ways here. No one can guarantee how that will go.

There are no therapists, legal counsel, fact-checkers, or religious affiliations here.

You can think of this as a open field with some safety tips (the resources page) and an “enter at your own risk” sign (this part you’re currently reading).

It would be great if you were able to relax, release, make some friends. But you might also get a splinter or some ant bites, and if you leave contact info it will be known that you were here.

That’s just how online engagement goes.

To cover the bums of everyone who made this site possible: no one is taking responsibility for the words of anyone else. No one is in charge here.

But lots of people are grateful for every person who engages in good faith.

Site Team

The team behind the ASA website are a group of former Austin Stone interns, residents, partners, volunteers – and survivors of abuse, all. We are diverse in our beliefs and backgrounds but united in our willingness and desire to create a space where people can share their stories and make clear to all survivors that they are not alone.

Once more for the bum-covering: No one who helped make this site is here acting in any capacity as therapists, legal advisors, personal guides or fact-checkers.

This site is not aligned with any outside person or organization. No claim made anywhere on this site is representing anyone but the published, acknowledged author (as applicable).

This site is here with the hope that you, the users, can connect with and comfort each other, forming community with our team being as hands-off as possible. Posts will need approval because not everyone on the internet acts in good faith. But hate speech or risky disclosures are the only things that might get flagged.

If you have questions or comments, you can email AustinStoneAbuse@gmail.com and one of us will respond as well and as quickly as we’re able. It won’t be soon. This is not how we spend most of our time. However we ask that you remember: here, we are working only as helpers to make this resource available to the public. We will not be able to provide personal advice or attention to issues outside of site maintenance.

Thanks,
The ASA Site Team
